Professional Experience:

 

Ms. Eason has substantial experience in commercial and employment litigation.  Over the course of her career, she has defended corporate entities operating in variety of industries against claims arising under the FLSA, FMLA, Title VII, ERISA, ADA, ADEA, Sarbanes-Oxley, and various federal and state causes of action. Ms. Eason has more than five years experience and demonstrated success in serving clients during all phases of a dispute, including pre-litigation negotiations, administrative investigations, discovery, settlement discussions, mediation, trial, and appeal. 

 

Specific Experiences:

 

-Has assisted corporate clients operating in a variety of industries with the process of drafting, reviewing, and/or interpreting commercial contracts.

 

-Has served many times as a panelist or presenter for various seminars conducted nationwide.

 

-Co-authored a variety of trial briefs for an FLSA collective action, including motions in limine, motions for directed verdict, and motions for reconsideration. Prepared trial materials for the same action, including deposition summaries, deposition designations, trial exhibits, outlines for direct- and cross-examination, and claims-analysis memoranda.  Trial team’s aggressive tactics ultimately resulted in the opposing parties agreeing to settle the case for an amount considerably below the settlement authority set by the client.

 

-Has defended against a number of large, multi-plaintiff actions, including class actions and FLSA collective actions.

 

-Co-authored the winning briefs for a factually-complex FMLA case from the summary judgment through appellate proceedings before the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals.

 

- Co-authored various motions and briefs for a Sarbanes-Oxley whistleblower action. 

 

- Has prepared EEOC position statements and handled any related litigation or mediation.

 

-Extensive experience preparing materials for and conducting HR training seminars; counseling clients on day-to-day employment matters; and preparing employee handbooks, personnel forms, and employment agreements.
